So enjoyed meeting this little man and his family this morning!  And a special thanks to his dad who went above and beyond to help with smiles and keeping Jonathan happy to get the shots we were after!  You were awesome!! I look forward to photographing all three boys this fall!!

More Kayla

I have wanted to do a session at sunset for ever. Well after tonight, I am kicking myself for waiting so long! I grabbed Kayla again tonight for a quick session during the famous "golden hour" before the sun sets....

And another bonus to the night...I brought Kelli with me (she adores Kayla and her family)and I had her do a couple of test shots for me before Kayla arrived....be still my heart! (Excuse the fact that she has a wad of gum in her cheek in one and is trying to blow a bubble in the other!)

I love Seniors!

This session this morning was such a fun way to start another year of Seniors!  I go to church with these beautiful ladies and I also was fortunate enough to capture both of their older sister's senior pictures as well!  Meet Kayla and Taylor...

Kayla, you have a special place in my heart girl! I love the way you love my kids and it is such a blessing to see how much my kids love you! Thank you for being a babysitter that goes above and beyond every time! You are a gift!!


Taylor, I still am in awe of how you seemed to turn from little girl to woman over night! You are beautiful inside and out and I hope this last year of high school is just loaded with blessings!!


How fun is this!

~Won't You Be My Neighbor~

I was so excited to photograph our neighbors today!  We are so blessed to have had amazing neighbors the entire time we have lived in this house!  While this little guy made me work up a sweat and earn my money, his cuteness factor makes it all worth it!  You guys are awesome and we are really thankful to have you as neighbors!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Nolan ~ 1 week old

Mr. Nolan came to visit last week on his one week birthday! This big guy weighed in at 10 pounds 9 ounces!!

Surprise for Grandma

Had a great session this morning on a lovely property with 8 sweet children...really, they were some of the best behaved, most cooperative kids I've worked with! Really appreciate that guys! You were awesome! This is a big surprise for their grandma's birthday coming up next month, so if you happen to know these kids...your lips must be sealed!!!

Fix It Friday

There is a great online resource for photographers called I Heart Faces. One really awesome thing they do is called Fix It Friday. They post an image from a photographer SOOC (straight of of camera) and then ask members to edit it how they edit it and then share the steps they took to edit. I don't do it alot, but I just LOVED this weeks picture so I thought I'd give it a go this time!

Here is the original SOOC image:

The first thing I did was open the photo in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). Then I bumped up the exposure, increased the blacks a tad to add some contrast, also boosted the saturation slightly. That alone made a huge difference. Then just for some extra kick I added clouds! =) I learned how to do this from an awesome tutorial from Kristen Caldwell.

Cuteness overload!

I had the privilege to photograph a precious family today that I met two years ago ~ it's always so fun to do repeat sessions! These boys could not be any cuter and considering they were up late last night watching fireworks, they rocked it! Thanks "B" family for welcoming me to your neck of the woods again! It was so great to see you!

Mr. J ~ 4 weeks old

This little guy slept better than any newborn I've ever photographed, which was SO surprising because he is more than 4 weeks old! Meet Mr. J ~

The making of a smile ~ Rylee

I had a blast spending some time with my sister, her hubby and their precious 3 month old daughter Rylee a few weekends ago. It is still totally surreal that my baby sister (I was 14 when she was born) is a mother...and a GREAT one at that! They do so well with her and are madly in love with her. Derrick can hardly concentrate on anything else when she's in the room...and I can't blame him, she is just adorable!

Alliyah ~ 9 days old

Meet sweet Alliyah....her mom won the give away from Sunday night and was kind enough to deliver this sweet baby the next morning! Nikki and family, thank you for traveling all the way down here and allowing me to photograph your precious new arrival! And I'm super pumped about how nice it was to do this shoot in my home and not have to take all my gear with me! WhooHoo!!

New Studio, New Blog!!

I've had visions of turning my office in to dedicated studio space for a LONG time! It makes my heart SO happy that it is now out of my head and into reality!! I'm excited to try it out for the first time (with it looking all pretty and organized and freshly painted) tomorrow morning with a sweet 9 day old little girl! So here are the long awaited pictures...and just so you appreciate the transformation, we must start with a before picture! All I can say is YIKES! =)

I couldn't have done this with out the help of many people! I asked fellow photographers so many questions and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate how you were so willing to answer those questions! Friends who helped watch the kids and friends who helped paint, but most of all, my biggest supporter, my husband Brian, for giving me the go ahead to actually do this and for all your help in the process and most importantly for believing in me and allowing me to do what I love to do! I love you, babe!

And a bit about the new blog! I've been wanting to revamp my blog for ages too, but just haven't had the time to do it. I was so thankful when my sister told me about the lady who just designed her new blog for her awesome new business Lily Field Furniture. I contacted Erika at The Fairy Blogmother to ask her if she could help me do the things I wanted to do with my blog and she ROCKED it! And just to add to her awesomeness, she had her first baby in the midst of this design process and still got it finished and launched in time! I'm still working on adding all the stuff I need to add, but I just couldn't wait to share it with you all and I thought it was perfect to reveal both the blog and new studio space at the same time!

Super blessed to be doing what I love and am so thankful to all who make it happen!!
